What material are Wetwall Mermaid worktops made of?

All of our Mermaid post-formed worksurfaces are manufactured with under-edge glue seals. Every worksurface in the Mermaid vanity range utilises environmentally sourced substrate material, while the High-Pressure Laminate surface comes Sanitized® as standard; giving it high-tech anti-bacterial properties to keep your surface safer.

How durable is a Mermaid vanity worktop?

Manufacted with the finest materials is what gives Mermaid worksurfaces their signature quality. While beautiful and stylish to look at, they are also constructed to cope with the wear and tear of everyday living. Independently tested to BS/EN438, your Mermaid vanity worktop is designed to withstand knocks, abrasions, chemicals, steam, and staining. All of our Mermaid post-formed worksurfaces are manufactured with under-edge glue seals. What is the Wetlock tongue and groove system?

Wetlock is Wetwall’s new “Click & Fit” tongue and groove joint profile for Mermaid panels. It’s designed to deliver the same trusted benefits of tongue and groove installation, including a quick and easy fit, a fully waterproof and grout-free finish, consistent quality and a smooth, seamless appearance.

Does Wetlock tongue and groove fit with other tongue and groove system?

No. Wetlock is a different joining profile and is not designed to be installed alongside other tongue and groove profiles. If you’re extending an existing installation or placing repeat orders, we’d recommend checking which profile your project requires before ordering.

Do I need to install Wetlock tongue and groove differently to other tongue and groove systems?

There's no change to the way you install panels. Wetlock is installed in a similar way to traditional tongue and groove panel systems, helpin to maintain a familliar fitting experience.

Do Wetwall Mermaid vanity worktops need special sealants?

Yes. Wilsonart Complete Adhesive adheres Wetwall worktops and panels directly to existing tile or vanity units, while Wilsonart antifungal Color Matched Sealant finishes the waterproof bond and coordinates with each Wetwall design. Use of Wilsonart Complete sealant and adhesives is required to validate our lifetime guarantee.
